At Refuge, we believe that adoption was God’s idea from the beginning for all of us. The apostle Paul said, “But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law … to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, ‘Abba, Father’” (Galatians 4:4–6).

There are more than 400,000 children in foster care in the United States, and 3,000 in Orange County alone.

The Adoption & Foster Care Ministry of Refuge is prepared to help our church families and members discover ways to address this crisis by supporting kids in foster care, wrapping around foster and adoptive families, hosting kids in need through Safe Families, or becoming a foster or adoptive family. Not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can do something to help vulnerable children.
